One More Disney Day

To celebrate Leap Year, Disneyland will be celebrating all day today and calling it One More Disney Day. The park opened this morning at 6am. People started lining up last night at 10pm. The first 2,000 people in the gates got these collector Mickey ears.

Aulani Resort opens today in Hawaii

Park News - Cars Land

The new Cars Land will contain three attractions and will span 12 acres on what was recently the Timon Parking Lot behind the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror and A Bug's Land. Cars Land is due to open in 2012.

RIP Wally Boag

RIP Wally Boag. The last surviving member of the 4 parrots in the Enchanted Tiki Room has passed away. He died on June 3rd 2011 (aged 90 years). His voices with live on in Disneyland forever, and in the new film Gnomeo & Juliet, they used archive recording of his voice as Jose the parrot from the Tiki Room. He was inducted into the Disney Legends in 1995 and has his own window on Main Street.

Custodians In The Park - Fun Facts

There are more than 600 employees on staff just to keep the park clean. Every night all the streets get pressure washed. On a busy day custodians collect 30 tons of garbage. The resort can recycle 510 tons of paper and 15 tons of aluminum cans in a single year.
